Pressure Care

This course has been designed for Disability Support Workers, who as part of their role, provide care to clients at risk of pressure injuries. 

The course will cover

  • Understanding the structure of the skin and underlying tissue

  • Discussing the factors that increase the risk of pressure injuries

  • Outlining the body areas most at risk of pressure injury development

  • Describing the 6 stages of pressure injuries

  • Explaining strategies which can be implemented to reduce the risk or development of pressure injuries, including skin risk assessment such as Braden Scale

  • Explaining the main methods of pressure injury wound care

  • Assessment and prevention strategies to reduce the risk of pressure injuries

  • Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 2 Hours

This course is designed for those currently working or about to commence work as a Disability Support Worker
