Non-Accredited Medications Assistance Course
This course is a non-accredited course designed to give participants with the skills and knowledge to assist clients with the administration of their medication. This course is designed for those working in the disability sector or aged care. The course would be appropriate for those who work in a role that does not require the Nationally Recognised qualification or for those needing to complete a 3 yearly refresher course for this Assist Client with Medications Course

IMPORTANT INFORMATION PRIOR TO ENROLMENT
+ Course Being Delivered
The following Statement of Completion will be awarded to successful participants in this course. The certificate will be issued:
- Assist clients with medication
+ Course Delivery
This course will be delivered in the workplace or at Australian Pacific Training Solutions facility.
+ Course Duration (face to face)
- Face to Face – 3 hours (minimum) – full face to face course
+ Work Placement Arrangements
No work placement will be required as part of this course.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

No specific entry requirements for this course however it is recommended for those working in the disability sector or aged care.
+ What happens at the course?
Assessment Activities
Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:
- Practical scenarios – The assessor must observe the following practical scenario:
- Scenario 1 – Provide assistance with medication – Eye Drops
- Scenario 2 – Provide assistance with medication – Tablets
- Documentation - The student must complete the following to the appropriate standard:
- Incident Report Forms
- Medication Administration Forms
- Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.
